Just because you're a lawful character doesn't mean you have to obey the lord that makes a law going against your personal code of ethics, and just because you're chaotic doesn't mean you don't follow the law. That's the topic of the new Save My Game, which looks at lawful and chaotic alignments, and especially how they affect a paladin.
