Tiggs made this post today over on the official forums:
On February 25th, 2005, we posted a Friday feature, and in this thread there were requests relating to an in-game memorial for Raphayl, a member of our Correspondent team who had passed away. With the best of intentions we set out on this mission. However, after extensive research and investigation into the legalities surrounding adding an in-game memorial to a licensed intellectual property, we discovered several issues that will unfortunately preclude us from pursuing this initiative to its conclusion.
Raphayl touched so many people in so many ways. I did not have the pleasure of knowing her but the stories I hear make me wish I had. She was a genuine person that loved the game and the people in it. Raphayl was a model Correspondent that made the community her focus. As I review the posts that were made following the news of Raphayl's passing, I see a community that pulled together in her honor to comfort each other. From an outsider's point of view (since I was not working for SOE at that time) it was very touching and it said a lot about the strength of the SWG community. Raphayl will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew and loved her.
Raphayl's brother and son will continue to have access to our forums and I would like for you to feel free to post to this thread and share any fond memories you have of Raphayl with them. If you did not know Raphayl but would like to post words of support to her family members please feel free to do so. Again, we appreciate the kind thoughts and wishes of our community.
Thank you!
