PS2 Service to be Withdrawn (May 2005)

It is with regret that we must announce the end of the FFXI service for the Playstation 2.
The decision was not taken lightly and is the result of many months of deliberation by the development team. The limitation of the Playstation 2 has restricted and held back certain developments to the game and its continued support would make future updates and content limited.

-Playstation 2 players will no longer be able to log into the game from the 1st of May 2005 using the Playstation 2 machine, they will however be able to use a PC version of the game.
