Think of this... there are about 293 million people in the United States, and roughly 800,000 people play WoW, so thats about .27% of the population. China, on the other hand, has about 1.3 billion people. So if .27% of their population plays WoW, that would be roughly 3.3 MILLION people playing WoW... thats a lot of yen, and servers, and game masters, etc. etc. If Blizzard were to charge the equavilent of 15 US dollars a month for WoW in China, that would come out to almost 50 million bucks a month!
On a side note, preorders went through the roof in China. WoW is scheduled for release in China later this year. But on April 10th, fans in select cities had the chance to purchase copies of the game in advance. Thousands of people waited in line, and most locations sold out within a few hours.
