What do Hogs, Lawn Gnomes, Fireworks, and Wurms of Doom have in common? They were all used to say goodbye to ArenaNets final Beta Weekend Event for Guild Wars before its release on the 28th! Following in tradition with its past ending events each beta weekend, ArenaNet unleashed terror on the towns of Lion's Arch and Ascalon City.

It started innocently enough around 11:40 PM PDT with some hogs running around town. Soon after, big gift wrapped packages appeared throughout town. Players were not left wondering what was in the packages for long, the packages quickly fell open, revealing several lawn gnomes with... fuses! These gnomes would target a person in town and hex them with "Spontaneous Combustion", a special skill not available to players! Needless to say, once the gnomes chose a target, that person would not last long!

Following the attack of the gnomes, ArenaNet turned the lights out in Ascalon and the party really got started. A flurry of fireworks ensued for several minutes, giving fans a truely spectacular show. And to top it all off, Infernal Wurms, came out of the ground and killed everyone in sight. It was a great time and everyone seemed to love it!

The event ended at about 12:10 AM PST, after a few too many lawn gnomes loaded and caused a server crash. As it was past time for the event to end anyway, the servers were not brought back up.
