Dungeons And Dragons Online: DDO News: Balancing Automated Rolls

| 27 Apr 2005 04:37

One of the benefits of having a live DM is the ability to adjust rolls on the fly, or bail the characters out of a dangerous situation that they've dug themselves deep into. How is DDO going to address these issues? Let Xundau explain:

Players bit off more than they could chew -- This happens all the time in PnP, and will probably happen a lot in DDO as well. Fortunately, our current design lets players bail on a dungeon if they find themselves overmatched. Once they're out safely, players can decide to regroup and rebalance and try the dungeon again, or move on to another challenge more suited to their abilities.

As Xundau says in the full post, it's a good thread. Definitely worth peeking into.
