Eberron is a fantastic setting for two reasons. One, it's just an incredibly cool and evocative fresh setting, unlike anything that's come before it. Picture a world that combines the best pulp elements of Indiana Jones along with the noir elements of the Maltese Falcon along with the quintessential high-fantasy/high-magic elements that you expect from classic D&D fantasy - it all adds up to a world that feels right to the D&D and RPG player while still being unique and exciting because it's so different.
