A day in the life of a Turbine game developer
It was a rainy Monday afternoon, when it should have been snowing. Laughter came from down the hall and though I had an urge to go look over my shoulder to see what neato new stuff they had got working in AC2 but I really needed to get this damn assignment of my plate.
My assignment, or rather assignments... ugh. I looked up at the whiteboard in disgust. Chase down and fix the bug resulting in client crashes, find and fix the bug with housing storage - DROP EVERYTHING ELSE. I really don't mind bug fixing THAT much, but the depressing thing was that my physical combat buff that has been sitting done and ready for QA for the last 5 months still hadn't made it through QA to get into the game. QA was too busy testing housing fixes and other bug fixes. I knew there were likely a few problems in my code and I agree we can't mount it without some testing but there's just no way we can find the time.
