Some sounds (ambient dungeon sounds, combat sounds, etc.) will be heard by everyone. But sounds that are difficult to hear from a gameplay perspective will require a Listen check. If the Listen check is successful, you will receive DM text. In most cases, the DM text will have an accompanying sound.
