Star Wars Galaxies: The Mighty Raph Speaks!

| 22 Mar 2003 02:04

Holocron stopped by the Star Wars Galaxies boards to clear up some concerns voiced by Sir_Voor on the metohd of adavancement in Star Wars Galaxies:

A character who does not pick up a mastery in a profession is not gimped. They are simply not as specialized.
In exchange, they have completely, radically DIFFERENT abilities that the specialist-style player does not, because they have the ability to pick up entirely new skills in entirely new disciplines.

To clarify the whole "elite" and "advanced" thing a bit more too--at this point, we've revised skill trees to where there's only two or three professions that require mastery in anything as a pre-requisite. This makes the skill trees significantly more skill-based overall, and offers quite a lot of choice.

In beta, I rarely run into a specialist character.
