The Singularity Caul has a long and varied history, being an artificial island which has been controlled by many different groups over past several millenia. It was originally created by the Yalain before their flight from Dereth, and was intended to serve as something akin to an oversized hedge maze. It then fell under the dominion of Bael'Zharon, where it was briefly used to test potential Isparian Dark Masters. After the defeat of the Hopeslayer, the renegade Virindi took control of the island, naming it the Singularity Caul, with the intent of using it as the birthplace of their new order. With the fall of Levistras, the island has come to be controlled by Aerbax, the one Virindi still possessing individuality after the Quiddity's clampdown on "aberration".
David ibn Jensen, with the help of Julian's Touch and Optomon of Thistledown, has journeyed deep within Aerbax's laboratories, and uncovered some of their secrets. Many insights into Aerbax's recent actions can be found in the myriad Message Shards found in the installations, but of most interest to adventurers is the item to be found within Aerbax's Antechamber itself - a Scroll of Singularity Caul Recall!
Those seeking this prize should be forewarned, however: earning the ability to recall directly to the Singularity Caul can be a difficult and arduous task, requiring the cooperation of both mages, warriors and archers - and ultimately, a journey into the depths of Maelstrom and Shadow.
