Those Isparians drawn through the portals to Dereth have faced many a challenge to thrive upon this new world - ranging from the inconvenience of Ulgrim the Unpleasant's drunken rantings, through to the deadly terror of the Shadow Invasions - and everything in between. The Virindi, however, may well represent one of the most dangerous and persistent menaces to plague Isparians since our arrival here on Dereth. Having established alliances with groups of the other two sentient races - the Lugian Raiders and the Hea Tumeroks - as well as outright control over many of Dereth's lesser species - their threat to the Isparian populace is undeniable.
Despite the enormous power the Virindi are able to wield, we would appear to possess at least one attribute they do not - individuality. A group of renegade Virindi - "tainted" by exposure to the sentient races of Dereth to the point of "aberrance" - aimed to build a new Singularity upon the island now known as the Singularity Caul, and break free from the rule of the Quiddity. Access to this island is via a dungeon at the centre of the obsidian plains - the entry-point for the Virindi into Dereth - called the Singularity Bore.
Aesa, of our Quest Team, has recently re-researched and updated our collection of information about the Singularity Bore, to complement David ibn Jensen's recent work upon Aerbax's installations on the Caul itself. She has provided advice on safely navigating to the centre of the obsidian plains, fighting through the Bore itself, and the destruction of the Guardian of the Singularity deep within the dungeon - required for access to the island. Also found upon the corpse of the Guardian is a Quintessence Sickle - the weapon wielded by the Virindi in melee combat - which may be of particular interest to those learning the ways of Axe Combat. Aesa's research has now been added to our Quest Compendium, available to aid any wishing to brave the depths of the Singularity Bore!
