The ancient Yalaini port of Aerlinthe lies on a small volcanic island of the same name, located to the north-east of Dereth. For years, after the flight of the Yalain and the eruption of the central volcano, Tenkarrdun, all that could heard on the shores of Aerlinthe Island was the clattering of petrified bones, and the whisperings of the higher undead, in their hidden dungeons deep beneath the earth.

After the Sundering, and the resulting disturbance of portal-space, new inhabitants began to arrive: Drudges and Banderlings joined the Skeletons and Fire Elementals upon the slopes of Tenkarrdun, Cunara, and Ernassen. However, it was not until the forces of Bael'Zharon began to gather, prompting the arrival of Aerfalle's emissaries to Chalicmere and the Sand Kings upon Dereth, that Isparians gained passage to Aerlinthe Island, and began exploring the long-forgotten subterranean structures to be found there.

Aerlinthe did not give up its secrets willingly, however - Isparian explorers took two months to locate the subterranean lair of Lady Aerfalle, Mistress of the island, and discover the treasures kept within her Keep. Some, such as Dar'van al-Zanuff, have chronicled their experiences upon this deadly island, allowing others to tread in relative safely through the bowels of the ancient mountains of Aerlinthe. Dar'van's freshly updated writings are now available in our Quest Compendium, listed under the apt title of Aerlinthe Island: Lady Aerfalle!
