Dungeons And Dragons Online: DDO News: Devspotting

| 23 Jul 2005 04:50

There have been a few interesting posts from the developers over the last couple days, so let's go for a brief recap:

Raiding
On the topic of raids and raiding, Sporkfire says, "DDO will not feature raids in the same fashion as other MMORPG's - largely defined as an unusually large number of players facing an exceedingly challenging mob. We do offer shared zones that multiple groups of players can enter to cooperatively complete quests. Some of these will be purely combat and can feature either large solo monsters taking on groups of characters or hordes of lesser monsters in a massive attack. We refer to these as Danger Zones, which require a lot of strategic planning to get through successfully."

Rusting to death?
While not a lengthy answer by any means and a more amusing thread than anything, Sporkfire chimes in to remind us that the Warforged do have a reason to fear rust monsters... Hmmm...

Monster Environments
Keeper drops by the forums to let us know monsters will have some "cultural objects" to keep them company. Examples are tools, beds, architecture, and light sources. I'm all for anything that enchances immersion.
