Dungeons And Dragons Online: DDO Preview @ IGN

New screenshots and some new impressions not enough for one day? How about another new preview? IGN answers your call:

But that wasn't all we got to see at the presentation. Turbine's CEO is a hands-on guy who appears to know at least as much about the game as the development team proper, and he gave us an extensive walk-through of the city and some mission environments we hadn't seen before. For one, we discovered that indoor city areas (inns, shops, the like) are instanced, which could help immensely with lag, a problem that plagued World of Warcraft at launch. The seven wards of Stormreach, the hub city, are also divided into separately loading zones, with each ward having a distinct art style that obviously took a while to design and implement. And despite the fact that the server sees each ward separately, the view distance is about what you'd expect in real-world terms.

Interesting. Having experienced Ironforge and Stormreach deep in the throes of overpopulation and bad auction house placement, I can safely say anything to alleviate that can't be a bad thing. Oh, you wanted the link? How silly of me, take it, by all means!

Update: There is also a new video interview available in IGN's video section. The video clocks in at 320x180 25 MB for non-Insiders.
