Asherons Call: Very Rare and Very Dangerous Bug

My friend's character keeps saying "Character Out of Date" or something when they try to log in!

First, yes I have been gone for over a week and sick the week before, so thats why its hard for me to respond to a post ;-).

Second, we are fully aware of the acct and the bug. This bug has hit a few people (under a handful to the best of my recollection). Its a bug that we are working on (and believe we have fixed) but the results of the bug are very bad. We have not found a way to fix the characters effected by this bug. For those who are friends of this account, all I can offer is my appologies. I realize sometimes things on the surface seem simply and you may wonder why we don't just "fix it". What I can tell you is we have looked into many ways of fixing characters effected with this bug, even though there are only a few, and we have not come up with any successful way.

Our first priority was in making sure that this bug did not hit other players (which, as I said, we believe we have fixed). Its not to say we will not continue to try to fix the accounts, but right now, these characters are lost.

Why not simply restore the affected characters from a backup?

Again,if it were just that simple, it would have been done long ago. Unfortunately, the solution is not that easy (though I wish it were).
