Deodatus's newest blog entry spends some time explaining not only what G&H is, but what it isn't. Check out a choice excerpt:
Gods and Heroes is a Massively Multiplayer Online game whose goal is to take the player and put them in the middle of Rome during a time where mythology and history were rich and exciting. We are giving the player a chance to explore and participate in things that have been, up to this point, only available through stories and legend. We are focused on creating a system where the player gets to play a good old-fashioned MMO with some of the new-fashioned things added in where appropriate. We're not instancing the entire thing nor are we pulling an EverQuest and creating a spawn camping hell.
That's always refreshing. And with Steig Hedlund at the helm, we should be in for an interesting ride:
We didn't bust our butts to give you an empty box folks! Remember who's designing this game? Remember Diablo II ? I'm not saying we're a D2 clone at all, but trust me guys, this man knows how to create a seriously fun time sink!
While I'm not sure how wise it is to call your game a timesink, Deodatus definitely sounds fired up about it!
