After feeding the Board monster a few trolls, Q-3P0 has posted some random answers to some random questions about some random game called Star Wars Galaxies. Here is what he said.
Hmm, the board monster may have gotten my previous attempt at this post. Got to remember to feed him.
Just picking some questions off the forum to answer in one spot (I know, that is Holocron's style)

If you download the beta, it will always be available on your PC incase you need to do a new install. The only difference is that the CDs are physically real, whereas the download is electronically real. Therefore I see no reason to force people downloading the beta to buy the CDs.

Olzrox, that's if they don't delete the install files, which are taking up a lot of hard drive space.
The simple truth remains that our announced procedure for beta was to ship disks at cost (materials and labor) to beta testers. This was agreed to by LucasArts and SOE. Our budget already reflects recouping costs for this aspect of development. The download option is a last minute "test" (and not a cheap one on our side by any stretch). It wouldn't be fair to those who have already purchased CDs and had no "free" option.I know some of you see this as a move motivated by money and you aren't entirely wrong. However it's not a conspiracy, we haven't hidden our intentions and it's not about profiting off of the weak, it is simply a business decision that allows us to focus more of our budget on development.
Ah, that's good to know. Now if I could just get into Beta 3! Anyway, drop by and read the article here. And watch out for that Board monster.
