Welcome to the next phase of the Public Test Realms. The current version of the test realms is version 0.9.0 in preparation of the upcoming release of patch 1.9.0 to the public realms. Along with the extensive list of changes and bug fixes found in the patch notes, this patch also features two new raid dungeons, the Ruins and Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. All of this new content will be available for testing on the Public Test Realms.
Much like the last several phases of the Public Test Realms, we will be using the Character Copy and Split Patch technology. Please be aware that there is a limit of two (2) character copies per account. Deleting a copied character will not grant you an additional copy. The copied characters are independent of your actual characters, and any changes made to the copied characters will not be reflected on the characters you copied from.
If you are new to the Public Test Realm, you will need to download the new patch provided on the Character Copy web page after you have successfully copied over a character. This patch will split your client into having both the retail version and the test realm version installed at the same time, with two separate executables. Those of you that tested a previous patch using the Split Patch technology, and still have the WoWTest directory can simply launch WoWTest to begin the patching process.
You may have noticed that if you had the previous version of the Test Realm client (0.8.0.4735) you can already download a patch that will take you to today's new version (0.9.0.4851).
