Asherons Call: Friday Clan Loka Featured Quest: All Things Siraluun

It's the Thanksgiving Holiday, and our thoughts turn naturally to Turkeys. Why, there are several players in-game who I consider to be prime examples of ... but never mind. Regrettably, fauna of taxonomic classification Meleagris gallopavo are nowhere to be seen on Dereth. The closest thing would be the Siraluun that liberally litter the landscape of Marae Lassel island. Yes, those nastly little (and not-so-little) birds on Marae Lassel, the ones that are always Peck! Peck! Peck! -ing at you. Nasty, nasty!

To really get the flavor of these birds (hah! A pun!) I heartily recommend checking out one of the classic stories from our Fan Fiction section, "Loka Jii Hunts for a Dress", written by ... well, modesty prevents ... :) Here's an excerpt:

As he ran past them heading for safety, one remarked: "Isn't that the great warrior Loka Jii, shieldless, weaponless, being chased by two purple and yellow chickens?"

Meanwhile, if you hunt them, what can you get?

I've collected several quests regarding these annoying, almost turkey-like creatures. If you gather enough feathers you can visit Timaru and have one of the Tumeroks create a nice Sirluun Dress and Headdress for you. Alternatively, you can turn in their claws for various tonsorial items (hairbrush, hair gel, scissors, hairpin) at the [b]Aun Crafters[/b] place in Bluespire. Last, UA characters can get a nice weapon (4-12 Elec, +10M +6A and spells) by completing a quest for Hea Ihipura in Ahurenga.
