We received the following note (and picture) from Dalliance, the Lady al-Qulus, of Leafcull.
"Attached is a picture of Ha'ak al-Qulus, monarch of Rain Clan of Leafcull and Dalliance. They married June 6, 2001, when there was no mechanism to "officially" marry. The people-based Sentinal wedding system was no longer in effect, and the NPC system was not yet implemented. Instead they married themselves on the Obsidian Bridge.
According to my calculations, they've been married 30+ Derethian years....but who's counting?"
For those unfamilar with Dereth, things Derethian, and the early days of Asheron's Call, at one point Sentinels (Turbine PCs) performed marriages. Organizing these events took some doing, considering there were no "official" rites, vows, or ceremony. Each wedding was unique!
As the work mounted, Turbine staff had less time for such events and turned to planning monthly events. Sentinel-based ceremonies were removed and players left on their own ... until the advent of the Marriage Planners, Grand Sentinels, and wedding areas implemented during the Betrayal event (April 2002). In the interim players were on there own. And so, Ha'ak and Dalliance got hitched!

The event took place at the top of the Obsidian Span near Cragstone. While we have no record of the ceremony, vows, or attendance, we can assume that all went well and the happy couple have lived happily ever after.
