Neverwinter Nights 2: Rideable Mounts

| 17 Feb 2006 22:50

The question has been floating around the community for a long while: Will rideable mounts be included in the single-player campaign which, of course, similarly has bearing on modules and persistent worlds. The original query was posted on the official forums in mid-January and, until yesterday, there had been no developer input. Breaking the silence, Ferret Baudoin, lead developer for NWN2 had this to say:

I really don't like being evasive with all this, but at times in development things can get down-graded from a "sure thing" status. If I knew definitively one way or the other, I'd say that. Consulting the magic 8-ball on this one would say something like, "The future looks very uncertain for rideable mounts". In the OC at least. If stuff like this comes up in the future, I'll try and give folks a heads up. I assume even if it's bad news you'll want to hear it sooner than later. I know I would.

While it's not a definite 'no', the tide seems to be turning against the idea of mounts. As more news comes down the pipe regarding the game and what is to be included, hopefully this issue will be laid to rest one way or the other. One certainly hates to continue to beat a dead horse.
