On the future of Obsidian and PC gaming:
"Our roots are in the PC. I worry sometimes that the PC is going away. We want to do what we can to see that that doesn't happen. So we'll always be doing a couple of next gen titles....a couple of PC titles as well..."
"Right now OE is working on 3 products, one is announced which is NWN2 and two other products. Both of them are next gen console games...and we're going to be building our own technology. And again, as I said previously, we want to stay behind the PC."
On licensed titles vs. IPs, the future for RPGs:
"IP is very difficult. A license gives you a sort of 'blueprint'. You know what you can do and you know what you can't do. With original IP, you can really hit it out of the park or you can really falter."
"We've worked on a lot of RPGs. We always think about what makes a good RPG. It has to be a compelling story, it has to have action, it has to have a character development piece. We have to strike the right balance for the type of person we want to enjoy the game."
"People are looking at how they can apply next gen consoles and better graphics capabilities to RPGs. People are considering what do MMOs bring to the single player market."
