Second, Destin of Mythic Entertainment has posted a helpful note on Camelot Vault's forums regarding Windows Update.

"Mike S. passed this tip onto me so I am posting it here for anyone who may be in need:

'If you have Windows Update running on automatic and you're experiencing a nasty slowdown on your Windows XP system, you might want to try removing patch 811493. Users with some performance problems report that removing the patch solves the issue.'"
