HomeLan Fed has a exclusive chat with the developers of Horizons with many good questions covered about the game. Below is a small sample of the chat.

HomeLAN - It's been nearly a year since we first started this Q&A series. How do you feel about the progress made in Horizons since our first developer Q&A back in July 2002?

Steve Escalante - I would like to preface this question with a more general statement. Horizons has grown significantly over the last two years. This may seem obvious to most people since it is two years, but what is not generally known is that this is a new product. Horizons is not the product it was back in 1999. Horizons through David Bowman's vision, Steve Snow's direction and the power and flexibility of our technology, is a more versatile and overall fun game.

Being on the marketing and business development side of the company allows me to take an outside perspective on the product. This product, from last July, has grown leaps and bounds from that time. The current beta participants are confirming my opinions of Horizons and I'm looking forward to your chance to experience Horizons.

HomeLAN - Horizons has taken a long time in development. Does the development team have the same enthusiasm that it did when the game was first started?

Steve Escalante - I would say yes, even more so than at first. Horizons is nearing completion and knowing that they have successfully put together a AAA title despite the odds is a thrill for everyone. Beta testing is a big part of the excitement equation as the developers now get to see real feedback and experience how these participants are examining and playing the game. Atari publishing the product is definitely another important part of their enthusiasm. One must admit the nostalgia that is associated to such an awesome brand, not to mention the team we work with at Atari add value to the product with their expertise and genuine interest in Horizons.
