Today HomeLan Fed has touched upon the graphics aspect of Horizons and here's what the dev's had to say!
HomeLAN - Casey, what responsibilities do you have as a special effects artist for Horizons?
[/p]
Casey Robinson - I am responsible for all spell effects in
Horizons. I work with the designers to come up with visual
representations of their design. This includes thinking up and creating
effects for weapons, techniques, special attacks, and, of course,
magic. I also work directly with Ryan to come up with new and exciting
things for particles to do; unfortunately he then has to program it.
HomeLAN - Ryan, what responsibilities do you have as a special effects programmer for Horizons?
Ryan Mitchell - My responsibilities encompass anything
indicated as an effect. This includes everything from weapon and spell
effects to weather systems. With these responsibilities I have to be
very specific in my direction and goals. The goals are to accomplish
all of these tasks in the most timely manner while also creating a
system powerful enough to satisfy all our wildest dreams with the least
effort possible on both art and code side.
