World Of Warcraft: A Statement And Some Clarification

| 4 May 2006 16:33

Good afternoon,

I saw some conversation on the boards and wanted to respond.

The WarCry Network does not, has not, and will not accept ads from virtual property/RMT companies and we do not support it in any way. We've been working aggressively to keep it off our network of sites. When Google spat up gold farming ads, we maxed out the filters blocking them, and eventually took the ads down when Google wouldn't expand our filter capacity. There are no ads for gold farming/RMT companies on our network of sites, nor will there be, despite the considerable sums of money we've been offered, not just for our adspace, but for our network as a whole. We've said no to these companies when others clearly haven't.

I'm aware a few minutes of Googling will find information that seems contrary, however, any affiliation was terminated as soon as we found out who we were dealing with. The Network and all of our other properties have no existing or on-going relationship with IGE and we have none of their-or any other firm's-gold selling ads on our network. I know you'll be diligent in checking, and I invite you to. Email us if you find one and we'll get it out of our system immediately. We play the games you play and we recognize the negative effect these companies have on the games you (and we) love, and we will aggressively remove their advertising, their forum spam, and the other marketing tactics they use.

We will not support them.

Thank you,
