The Siraluun are not precisely a migratory bird. However, through their developmental cycle, they tend to move to different locations. Researchers are not quite sure as to the reasons behind this, however. The young have been found in the marshy areas of the island, and as they grow, they are found in the tidal regions, and later the strand and old timber growth areas. Because of this, the differing age groups of the birds have been given names, based on where the groups can be found.
A few older birds have been sighted (one named by the Tumerok of the island as "Kithless"), and rumors persist of an extremely old and powerful Siraluun, which adventurers have taken to calling the "Untamed". Researchers for the Dereth Conservancy have been unable to substantiate these claims however. Proof of the bird's existence would be welcomed by any Arcanum Agent.
Experience Artisans have learned to take the claws of these creatures, and create various grooming products - hairgels, hairbrushes, hairpins, and even scissors can be created by those with the correct skills. In addition, the Tumerok collectors can fashion various weapons from these claws, including a Matihao, a Waaika, and even a Tewhate. Other Tumerok crafters have learned how to craft the feathers of these birds into very fashionable dresses and headpieces.
Eventually, even the Drudges will come to desire the feathers of these creatures. With so many hunting them, they will eventually go extinct. The remaining feathers will be handed down through the ages, becoming an important part of Drudge Rituals, becoming lost, stolen, and recovered.
That is for the future, though. For now, adventurers can continue to track these beautiful birds through the wilderness, perhaps discovering even older and rarer ones.
