Neverwinter Nights 2: Papermonk's Take on the Developer Chat

| 1 Jun 2006 03:09

You have got to love this guy. Pithy, intelligent and acerbic. Here's a snip:

After that.. The chat ended. And all the developers ran off. We were left with only each other. And I'll tell ya - it was scary. Metallix, of earlier fame, celebrated by cursing them profusely to stay. But alas, they were already gone. No afterchat... and we all know, cuddling after is what makes it all worth it. But they just left. Not even breakfast.

So, in closing. Well, not a lot of new stuff. Now, I understand that. This is PR for Obsidian and there are definitely limited to what they can say and we're not going to hear the juicy technical details we want. So, I certainly don't hold it against them for it being a rather ... generic experience. But from my perspective it was still disappointing. I was really hoping for something nice to chew on. It's been pretty quiet since E3 and all the info before got us all a little to used to info.

Still, lots of cool things. The cutscene controls are going to be HUGE. And the VFX details were good, and I found the maps within maps very groovy.

So, a little disappointing. Some cool bits. And while I don't care too much that about half the questions were two people, I imagine we'll here some whining for a while. Cause that's just the way things are.
