McDoomer on the official forums pointed out a new video diary at G4mers.com. Here is what Adam Miller noticed:
Lots of great stuff here, much of it visual. Some quick tidbits:
* There seems to only be mention of a red and green dragon.
* The balor gets a flaming whip and sword.
* There's multiple "movement" animations: injured, dancing? (you've got to see it), running, normal walk, and sneaking.
* There's lots of undead and they look really good: ghoul, ghast, mummy, skeleton, zombie, vampire, etc.
* They show off assorted heads (e.g. gnome female heads).Go watch it, as most of the "ooh, aah" factor is seeing things in action.
After thinking about it, I'm intrigued by having multiple movement states. How does a player move between the two? The walking/running is obvious, as we already have this. Sneaking could be done if the player is in stealth mode. Injured could be the default movement if hit points are low (and can you not run if hurt badly?).
Still, the little "pimp dance" movement befuddles me. Can players choose to switch to that movement state, like an emote? I wonder what the chances might be to introduce a new animation movement state for players that could be triggered via scripts? Say, swimming perhaps?
I also wonder if only having two dragons, both of them evil, will be a problem for players. I certainly understand the desire to focus on quality over quantity. Perhaps with expansions we can get some more.
