Anarchy Online: Developer Blog Update

| 2 Jun 2006 16:33

Quest Designer Yngvild Lothe has updated her blog over at 1UP, so if you want find out a little more about what goes on behind the scenes make sure you drop by and check it out!

Changing the world....

My story update is out on our live servers, and as we expected, it has caused a lot of action in the game! It will be very interesting to see what will happen over the next few weeks, to see what the players decide to do about it. I know not all are happy, as always whenever something you're used to changes, but I think changes such as these are so important to keep the world from getting static. It makes the world feel more alive, and I really enjoy seeing people protesting with placards in the streets of Borealis, telling Omni-Tek to get out of the city. And who knows what will happen if the protests keep up, sometimes, like in France recently, that might just do the trick! :)

I got some really good news the other day that I'll be representing AO at Dragoncon this year, which means that I'll get to go and meet with AO fans and our ARK volunteers as well as other people interested in games, roleplay, fantasy and sci-fi.

I've never been to the US before, so that will be an interesting part of it too. I'm not sure how representative Dragoncon and Atlanta will be - but just getting there should give me some impression!

Anyway, would be cool to see some of you there though!

Just started testing Bang! Howdy this week - still in beta, but it's quite entertaining still, I'm a big fan of the Bang! Card game, and if they do as good a job with this game as with Puzzle Pirates, I'll have a new favourite casual game at home I think, replacing Animal Crossing, which I must admit is starting to get a tad repetitive now. Currently I'm also 'playing' some DDR on the Xbox in the evenings, but got a little depressed when I saw this video - I guess it comes more natural to some people, huh?
