Gods And Heroes: Community Love

Now here's the challenge that we face, and it's something that I talked about in another post earlier this week. The biggest challenge that faces Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising isn't a design issue, or how we're going to handle PvP, or even a network issue. The biggest challenge that we face is misinformation. There are a lot of site out there that are covering Gods & Heroes now and a lot of them have message boards. The saddest thing I've seen so far is the fact that these sites have more than enough information to tell people what the game is about, but when I go to the message boards, I see posts that say things like,

"It looks interesting, but I didn't read the articles, so I'm not really gonna play because it's 100% instanced."

Bwaa??

Gods & Heroes is 100% instanced?! I didn't know this, better check my sources!

The fact is, we have a lot of passionate people here and we need your help! I do my best to visit various message boards and keep track of what's going on and do my best to dispel the myths, but we could really use your support in spreading the word. Maybe we could do this grassroots-style! How sweet would that be? We could be our own underground movement of awesomeness! We don't have to be mean, or harsh, we just have to spread the word about what Gods & Heroes really is and what we're really trying to do here. Who better to do that than us? I mean, we're the people who love this thing, right? If it wasn't for you guys, we would have a job!

So here's a list of the forums that I try to visit everyday, a couple of them I just started visiting, so I hope that I will see you there, clicking the hype meters, spreading the good words, and more than anything-even if you did nothing else-just making sure that people know what is true and what isn't true.

I'm here every day, and I'm happy to say that we're finally starting to see a positive increase here! If every one of you guys signed up, posted two or three times and then voted on the hype meter, we could get Gods & Heroes to #1 on the most anticipated game list in no time! I'd love to see that.

These guys are awesome and I'd love to see more activity on their boards. I encourage everyone to head on over there and at least sign up and participate a bit!

GameSpot

These are the slowest boards by far, and yet Gamespot has some of the highest traffic of any game site out there. I don't see why we can't get this some attention, and in turn raise our interest level!

Another set of boards that need some lovin!

These are the major sites that people are visiting and seeking out information on the awesomeness that is Gods & Heroes. I do my best to be everywhere at once, but sadly, my superpowers are limited, and as such, I need to enlist your help. One of the things that I hope you all realize is that your efforts do pay off in the long run. Gods & Heroes' success isn't just based on what we do here, but it is also based on you, the fans. This is your game as much as it is ours... in fact, this really is you game, and thus it goes as far as you want it to go.

We've spent the past few months reading every post, listening to every concern, and writing tons of replies. There have been times where I've seen Stieg & Co. go, "Hey, that's not a bad idea!" and make notes from what you guys have said. Think of how much more could be done if more people weren't confused by the evil misinformation.

Until next week,

Deo out!
