So there are a few shots for you all, I forgot to bring my camera in to work today and copy the pictures off. I'll try and do that next week so you can see some of the awesome pictures I took. Pretty much the entire show involved all of us demoing the game for various media outlets, and I would say that it went very well. I constantly had a crowd of people around when I was demoing, and every time I looked up, Allen, Brian, Drew, Anthony, Chris, and Richard also had crowds around them. It was insane!
We demoed squad combat, the god system, and even the action combat system. I could go into more detail, but it's been all over the message boards from first-hand viewers, and I want to let them tell it how they saw it!
I managed to fight off the E3 plague that everyone seems to get every year, and I think that's due to SOE's never-ending stock of Vitamin Water. I officially LOVE that stuff and I'm confident that the 20 something bottles I consumed, and the decent sleep I got, had a lot to do with why I managed to win the battle versus the evil E3 plague!
The game was incredibly stable for Alpha code, and the only time the server and/or the game went down was when we scheduled downtime for standard maintenance once-per-day. How awesome is that? Pretty freaking awesome if you ask me! By the end of the show, poor Stieg had pretty much come close to losing his voice, Chris McKibbin was still giving interviews and was very excited about the game, and the rest of the team had never been more excited about where the game was going. It was an amazing time and it really helped show the industry that we are going to rock some serious sockage come Winter!
Whew, I am exhausted! None the less, coming back to the office has been both a blessing (I hate LA traffic) and a challenge (SO much work to catch up on). As you all know, we're are working diligently on the final pieces of the forum upgrade, and after a few surprises here and there, we are almost ready to get this bad boy up and running. I'd look for that to happen within the coming weeks. I have just wrapped the first draft of Chapter 2 of our on-going saga, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how the story is coming along. I will finish the final edits this week and you should see that second chapter shipping with the newest newsletter.
Other than that, be sure to spread the word and get people involved on the boards. I want to thank you guys for staying so mature during this influx of new users. We're really on the cusp of something incredible, and there's only so much that we here at Perpetual can do without your support! Like always, you know I just love being a part of this community and I can't wait tell you more of what's going on!
Until next week,
Deodatus out!
