Just an update (no, I haven't abandoned the thread)...

We have discovered a crack in the case. We are in the processes of trying to work through this problem and applying a fix. I still would not expect a fix before Monday as its very complicated and will take some time to test (gasp, yes, contrary to many people, lots of testing goes on before we ship anything).

When we do have a fix and we put it out there, we are also planning on doing an article to explain this problem. Its quite an amazingly complicated bug to find and one that is not just a simple "You put x and broke y". I believe people would like to know more details about what this bug is so look for it after the fix (we are going ot fix it first, then worry about an article explaining the details of the bug).

When we start testing the fix, I will let you know. Typically for a hotfix, that means we are about 24 hours away, so long as testing does not discover anything else broken or the fix actually doesnt work (which does happen from time to time).
