<DIV align=center>Welcome to the "Galactic Senate Weekly Report". </DIV>

<DIV align=center>To give Star Wars Galaxies players a better understanding of who, what and why the Galactic Senators are we've decided to but together a weekly report.  Enjoy!</DIV>

<DIV>

Hi everyone, I'm Heswindu.  I've been following SWG since 2 years before launch, and have been playing since day 1 (or as us vets will remember, it was really day 2).  I've been involved in many tests, Beta 3, publish 9 - first SWG Jedi Council, JTL beta, CU alpha, ROTW beta, and TOOW beta.  I used to be core systems correspondent before the senator program was instated as well.

About me personally, I'm from Montreal Canada, and recently finished my MSc in Molecular Biology.  SWG was my first MMO, and despite all the changes to it, I still do enjoy it, namely due to the fact that it is Star Wars.  I've been a die hard fan of Star Wars ever since I saw the original movies on TV at the ripe old age of 2 years old, and that love for a universe a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away has never diminished.

There are many things I've accomplished over the years in SWG, and I have many fond memories of good times.  I can still remember logging in for the first time into Dearic (my starting city), and just standing in awe of the realization that I was in Star Wars.  My first profession mastery was Master Pistoleer, though I don't have the badge to prove that since I switched out of that before they actually had implemented badges into the game.  Eventually at some point I came across the Commando profession and never looked back.  My main character has always been a commando at heart, and I have a feeling, always will be.  I'm a big role player, and my Jedi character (which was among the first ten Jedi on Chilastra) tends to remain hidden, true to movies where Jedi are in hiding. While granted that SWG may not be an exact replica of the movies, it is what you make of it, and as a dedicated Star Wars fan, I try to keep myself at least true to the saga.

As to what the future brings, who knows?  I would like to see an immersive player driven galactic civil war, combat vehicles, atmospheric flight, and just plain old Star Wars goodness in the game.  While SWG has seen some turbulent and arguably traumatic times, I do feel at it's heart that the development team is trying to fix things.  I sincerely hope that they do fix and improve the game to a level that does justice to the Star Wars saga.</DIV>

<DIV align=center>Galactic Senate Forum Report.</DIV></DIV>
<DIV align=center> </DIV>
<DIV>Here's a summary of some of the recent goings on the Senate forums.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Did I miss something?  Darth_Sushi brings up a question that is on many players' minds: player-owned GCW bases.  Many players, including the Senators, were under the impression that player-owned GCW bases would be making a return.  Thunderheart clarifies that the Publish Plan note about bases were about static, planetary bases.  Several suggestions are offered to get bases back up as well as a request for an updated Publish Plan.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>SamousNemo asks for some clarification on the combat targeting enhancements (AKA Shinies and Trinkets) so that we're all on the same page as to what is being discussed.  Helios_SOE comes by and answers some of the questions.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>After hearing reports of players being warned for AFK combat, BadgerSmaker asks if there is a new policy in effect since it has been allowed in the past.  Customer Service shares a new entry into the Knowledge Base (Answer ID 7186).  Esharra and others request that this new policy apply to all AFK play rather than just combat because it is unfair to allow one type but not another.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Esharra looks for volunteers for judges in a cross-server "Battle of the Bands" event scheduled for Sept. 29-Oct. 1 that will take place on Chilastra.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Red-Dwarf takes the lead as the Restuss Event goes to Test Center, compiling bugs and issues for review.  Concerns for the crafter investment and availability are brought up.  Helios_SOE thanks him for the feedback and shares that they will be forcing the Restuss stages forward over the weekend.  Esharra requests a place for the Entertainers who want to help out, noting that there is no cantina in the camp.  Shadowbrak shares information on the missing AT-AT, stating that it has again fell victim to the animation system, as well as answering other questions.  Concerns over the PvE-only option for Restuss missions were brought up by Khristen, who also pointed out that there is no clear indication of where the PvP-enabled zone begins which could allow for accidental entry.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>"I've been incapped and I can't get up!"  Darth_Sushi passes along player reports of an incap bug where players are unable to recover from an incap.  Customer Service shares a link in the Technical Support forum about it; the bug only seems to happen when using the Health Crystal.  If you've had this problem, you can find the thread about it here:  The Infamous Infinite Incap!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>MoyaWookiee inquires about Japanese server characters on behalf of a player.  Customer Service lets us know that it is, unfortunately, much too late to retrieve any characters left behind when the Japanese servers were shut down.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>After the glimpse at the upcoming Player Character Appearance Enhancements, BadMisterFrosty shares suggestions for new moods and emotes as well as requesting new ways to customize avatars.  Included in the requests are new hairstyles, scars and stigmas, eyepatches and other eyewear.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Pawlin asks again about a few Trader exploits that are out there and whether they are being worked on.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>And there are other exploits afoot, as Meatpuppet1987 shares information on two other ones.  Customer Service stops in to let us know they will take a look at those.  Later in the week, Heswindu brings up another possible exploit that needs investigation.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The Galaxy Report celebrates the third anniversary of Star Wars Galaxies with a special show to share special moments from players.  Darth_Sushi posts a link with more information about Episode 43.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Thanks, but....  BadgerSmaker passes on thanks for the fixes to Officer group buffs and debuffs, even if the numbers aren't quite where the community would like them.  Thunderheart says he will pass on the information and the public discussion thread link that was posted.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Customer Service investigates a report of fraud after it was passed on by Pawlin.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....or in this case a mod.  Esharra expresses frustration that players must resort to mods in order to take advantage of dances that are coded but not available.  Thunderheart, for the sake of discussion, questions the definition of these dances as "content".  Elyssa points out that players define content as something to do that makes our gameplay experience fun and exciting, which is reaffirmed by other Senators.  In an effort to be understood, Esharra gives insight into what makes Entertainers do what they do and why this unavailable content is so important.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>CorSec not welcome!  Or at least bugged.  Glzmo gives the heads up about Imperial CorSec pilots being gated from Restuss space missions.  Heswindu adds that Rebel RSF pilots are affected as well.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>"Volume of grinding is not content," states Meatpuppet1987 in regard to the high kill count numbers for the new Restuss armor.  Marrow1 shares SWG-Swede's statement that later quests will grant more commendations.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Begun the CL1 Wars have!  "The Great Gorath Trader/Entertainer Guild War" will prove just who is the l33test of the l33t in the Trader and Entertainer communities.  Players from all servers are invited to join in.  Courtesy of Elyssa and CenoKrefey.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>What's up with that?!  Pawlin looks for clarification on just how and where the +25 Artisan Experimentation/Assembly buff item came from.  Thunderheart was under the impression that it was an unannounced reward for the Restuss Event, but reports are that it is a profession reward item that shows up after respecs.  The question is still waiting on a definitive answer.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>"Stage 2 already?!?!"  Not quite.  Shadowbrak clears the confusion with "The Restuss Event Lexicon":</DIV>

<DIV>
<DIV>Element: At each of the bases, there are four elements the players can complete quests to advance. The walls and the medical center update automatically in response to the other four being upgraded.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Phase: Each element has four phases. A single element will upgrade only three times giving four distinct looks to the base.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Stage: The overall Restuss Event has three stages. Stage One is the base building, Stage Two is the battle, and Stage Three is the destroyed Restuss.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>During stage one there are two quests for each element. The element will upgrade once in the middle of the first quest and again once the first quest has been completed the required number of times. The second quest will upgrade the element one final time and then will remain there-after as the non-pvp commendation quest.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The Stage Three PvP quests are naturally, not available until Restuss is in Stage Three.</DIV></DIV>

<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>It's all about color.  Glzmo revives an older thread regarding color kits for Mandalorian Armor since color kits are available for the new Crusader Armor.  Chrysalide lets us know that the new kits are only for Crusader Armor.  There are no Mandalorian Armor Color Kits in development, but it's not a technical impossibility.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Psychopyro80 looks for some help from QA about items on Test Center that shouldn't be there. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Restuss is no longer a normal NPC city, but it is as far as factional mines go.  StarNick requests that the restrictions on faction mines be lifted for Restuss as it becomes a battlefield.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>While many are concentrated on Restuss being a war zone, building zones have become an issue in some places.  Marrow1 shares a link about Restuss bases that fall within or touch the borders of existing Player Cities.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>You can't call TC 'sploiters!  That actually can pose problems, as Red-Dwarf expresses concerns over the current state of Test Center.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Players need to know their limits.  Marrow1 restates concerns about the Restuss boundaries when it becomes a PvP-enabled zone.  As it was on Test Center, players only discovered that they were entering the zone when they got a system message stating that they were Special Forces.  Khristen suggests implementing a pop-up box similar to how the old battlefields used to work (where you were punted out of the zone until you accepted) so that players have to actively choose to enter the zone.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>It's not wise to question the Emperor...but this is about his Hand.  Marrow1 looks for answers about the Emperor's Hand spawn that is part of the Restuss Event and whether there will be a PvE-only option available.</DIV>
