Most would agree that there are three dominant sentient races upon Dereth - us Isparians, the industrial Lugians, and the spiritual Tumeroks. All three have come under the influence of the Virindi, with Candeth Martine being the most prominent example from our own race. The Tumeroks, however, and the Hea Tumeroks in particular, have perhaps been affected more than any other group or race now upon Dereth - and the enmity between the Hea and Aun xutas demonstrates this very clearly.

For many years we knew nothing of this, however. All the Tumeroks we saw were of the purple-skinned variety we now know to be the Virindi-altered Hea, and all the Tumeroks were under the rule of the powerful Tumerok Overlord, somewhere out in the Direlands. Many moons ago, we discovered the Overlord's Fortress, and returned the Overlord to his lifestone many, many times. But recently, the Overlord decided that enough was enough - and vowed to put a stop to our transgressions.

Although his fortifications are now more heavily guarded than before, and the Overlord himself sports even more deadly weaponry, David ibn Jensen has managed to make his way through a series of Tumerok installations, and to the lair of the Overlord himself! The chronicles of his journey have been recorded in our Quest Compendium, and will perhaps be of use to any blade-wielders seeking the Overlord's Sword, or to those seeking the fabled riches of the Overlord's Chest. Caution is advised to any wishing to follow this path, but the chronicles may be viewed by any, and those interested may find them here.
