Neverwinter Nights 2: Shane Responds to the Delay

| 19 Jul 2006 02:30

Community Manager Shane DeFreest had a bit of commentary on the official forums regarding the announced release delay:

"I don't see this delay as a good thing. Yes, it gives more time for polishing, but the changes made in one month can't be very significant."

I'll take some time to address this issue. I firmly believe that giving the team another month to polish the game is very much a good thing. Atari choosing to put out a product when its done and polished is the right decision Personally, I am very impressed with this corporate direction and I applaud them for choosing to do

In regards to how much difference a month can make. When you are finding and fixing more than 100 bugs a day it makes HUGE difference. There are many times a week or even two weeks extra to really fine tune a game really improves it dramatically. A full month is the right choice to make.

It appears that Atari, for once, has made the right decision. Any opportunity for the developers to find and squash game bugs is a good thing for all concerned. Kudos, Atari!
