New Memory to Boot PC's Like a Light
|
It's true! IBM is in the final stages of producing MRAM a technology that it's been persuing since the 1970's is finally coming to fruit. This technology works like common flash memory so it retains it with no external power supply. You can get the goods on the story here. They hope to have it available to the consumer by 2005 which is definately shaping up to be a very interesting year for the PC. It could be that the jumps in bus speeds on computers is in advance for new products such as this that are coming up in a few years. With a pc that has everything working as fast as the CPU you'll have a powerful system indeed.
