USA Today on Multiplayer Worlds

USA Today has posted a lengthy article about our favorite topic entitled, When multiplayer worlds collide.

But Star Wars Galaxies is the biggest name yet, and it has the best chance of turning massively multiplayer games into a mass-market business. "Within a year, it could easily get half a million subscribers," says David Cole of research firm DFC Intelligence. "But what is the ceiling? Can it do a million?"

The article focuses on movie-based MMOG's, mainly Star Wars Galaxies, but also makes mention of Middle Earth Online and a host of other non-movie titles like The Sims Online. And if you can locate yesterday's paper-based issue in which this article also appears, I have it on good authority that there is a picture of the Balrog from Middle Earth Online.
