GameSpy currently delivers live multiplayer gaming infrastructure and editorial content to the games industry worldwide through its website, gamespy.com and its GameSpy Arcade online player matchmaking product.

GameShadow's unique Version Management Solution, determines what versions of games are installed on a user's PC and proactively delivers patches for the "entire" games portfolio to GameSpy's audience of 11 million registered Arcade users.

"Keeping games up-to-date intelligently is a key desire for our target audience of Connected Gamers. GameShadow will assure our subscribers have a secure means of updating their games, adding real value to our existing products. When combined with the current strength of our subscription services, GameShadow is a significant addition to our portfolio, one the gaming community will just love", said Jonathan Epstein, president of GameSpy.

This two-year exclusive deal within the North American market will see a co-branded version of GameShadow marketed to GameSpy's massive monthly audience reach of around 14.9 million, and existing subscriber base of over 300,000. The combination of these two market-leading solutions further strengthens GameSpy's position as number one in the market and delivers
a solution that for the first time enables gamers to upgrade their games to the latest version and play online using the industry's most advanced technology.

"The synergies between the organisations and our market leading solutions were clear from the start", said Tony Treadwell CEO Aardwork Software. "With GameSpy's unrivaled reach and position in the market now combined with GameShadow's market leading proposition, the opportunities are significant. We are very excited to be working with the GameSpy team on ideas for the future developments of GameShadow, which will continue to offer a high-quality gaming experience for consumers"

GameShadow's unique patch delivery system will be distributed under license through the GameSpy network. The GameSpy audience will have the option to purchase GameShadow as an individual solution, or as part of a bundle with the existing GameSpy subscription services.
