Warcry: Clan Housing. It's been intimated at that this is something that is purchased/taken in steps - from a small house to a kingly manor. Can you elaborate?
NCSoft: Basically, there are two types of Clan housing: castles (of which there is one in each territory) and Clan hideouts. Castles can become more valuable over time based upon population use of the surrounding territories.
In order to own a castle, which will be owned by NPCs initially, it is necessary to win a battle against the NPC's. In the event the castle is owned by a player Clan, the battle is among attacking and defending clans.
There are two ways to own a Clan hideout - and only one hideout may be owned by a clan at any time. Clan hideouts are located within castle boundaries.
[li]Hideouts may be auctioned from time to time. Clans may only place bids if they have the money to back up the bid.
[li]Clans may occasionally have the opportunity to gain ownership of hideouts by aggressively defending the hideouts from attacks by monsters.
[li]Can adjust the tax rate of the shops in the castle or the shops in the surrounding area.
[li]Can change the 'attitude' of the Castle Guards. This is an aggro adjustment that allows you to set them to attack "chaotic" characters.
[li]Can produce and resell items with the raw materials that have been brought or sold by other players. Crafting can be considered the items the dwarves currently create as they are non-magic users but excellent craftesr.
[li]Free warehouse - this is clan storage, not private storage. You put your items in for free, remove them for a fee.
[li]Free teleport from the NPCs in the castle. The NPCs come with pre-established teleports throughout the world.
[li]Increased HP/MP recovery camp
[li]Fort walls to increase defense against attacks.
Warcry: What are the responsibilities of a Clan Leader/Monarch? What can be shared among his followers?
NCSoft: Clan leaders who own a hideout have to pay a fixed maintenance fee at certain intervals. The Monarch owning the castle cannot adjust this fee. This is akin to rent.
Monarchs do not have any specific responsibilities.
