The Bard's Tale Returns

An oldie but a goodie! Work is underway to resurrect the venerable Bard's Tale series. Brian Fargo, former head of Interplay, is working with EA to finalize the rights for the project. The target release date is Q4 2004, but work is already well underway:

[I]To keep that from happening, his team has started with the design document first, a treatise of more than 700 pages, that already includes every line of dialogue in the game, written by professional screenwriters. "Great graphics and interface are important to a game," he said, "but those are expected. We want this game to have great personality as well."

[/I]I never actually owned the original Bard's Tale, but I did have The Bard's Tale Construction Set (go figure). :)
