Aspyr Hires Two New Mac Programmers to Start Internal Development Studio
Oct 08, 2003 11:42 -- Entertainment publisher Aspyr Media Inc. announced it has hired two new Macintosh programmers for its internal development division. Mark Krenek and Brad Oliver, both highly experienced Mac game developers, will join Aspyr in the next few weeks.
"Both Brad and Mark's qualifications and extensive experience made them ideal candidates for our internal development team," Aspyr's Director of PC & Mac Development Glenda Adams said.
Mark Krenek has been a Macintosh developer since 1985 and has worked for several companies including TechWorks, where he met Mike Rogers, the President of Aspyr and Glenda Adams, Director of PC and Mac Development at Aspyr. He received a bachelor's degree in Environmental Design from Texas A&M University and a master's in Architecture from the University of Texas. Krenek most recently worked at Westlake Interactive on numerous Windows to Macintosh conversions including Tony Hawk's Pro Skater(R) 2, Tomb Raider(tm) The Last Revelation, and several expansion packs for The Sims(tm). He has also done original software development.
Oliver, also from Westlake Interactive, is Aspyr's other new programmer. He has worked on 19 titles, nine of which were Aspyr games. His various other projects included an arcade emulator MacMAME, id/Raven Software's Heretic and the freeware version of Hexen 2. His first Mac experience was developing utilities to edit levels for LucasArts's Star Wars: Dark Forces. Oliver attended the University of Arizona and currently resides in Chandler, Ariz.
"These guys are perfect additions to our development team," says Michael Rogers "They both have done stellar work for us in the past, and we look forward to great things at Aspyr."
