KT to invest 100 billion in gaming industry

| 12 Nov 2003 14:52

Take a look at the following:

In a bold step that set off alarms at local video game distributors, KT announced Tuesday it would invest up to 100 billion won ($85.2 million) in the gaming industry. To that end, it recently signed contracts with major Korean game developers and is also in talks with foreign game distributors.
....
Games, for instance, are closely related to network infrastructure these days. Millions of Korean gamers use broadband services to enjoy multiplayer online games. KT's foray into the gaming sector, therefore, is aimed at squeezing some economies of scale out of the combination of gaming content and its network services.

I'm thinking more and more that I should find myself a good home in Korea one of these days.
