Los Angeles, CA. November 13th, 2003- G4, the TV Network about video games, has learned that Spike Steadman, an infamous video game enthusiast and G4 TV fanatic, is preparing to file a lawsuit against Viacom's SPIKE TV claiming the network's actions inflicted "aggravating emotional duress" on him. The prospective plaintiff contends that through Spike TV's constant erroneous claims that they are producing the "first ever video game awards," and various other copyright infringements on "G-Phoria," G4's actual first ever awards extravaganza held last July, the network has continually degraded his devotion to the authentic video game community and created emotional turmoil.

"Spike," a dutiful and recognized video gamer, has also identified that Spike TV's use of his name to ingratiate the all men's network to the "difficult to penetrate" video game community has caused further emotional damage. "Spike" is currently seeking legal representation and is interviewing prospective counsel. Sources close to "Spike" are rumored that his potential suit calls for Spike TV to discontinue positioning their upcoming awards as "the first ever," or "never been done before."

"I was at G-Phoria. Spike TV can't convince me or anyone that G-Phoria didn't exist, that Tony Hawk wasn't there, that Glow Awards weren't presented, and that G-Phoria wasn't held last July and aired in August!" "Spike" stated, though sedated and bedridden. "G4 TV, is the only channel dedicated to video games, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The claims that Spike TV is producing an event that has: "never been done," are lies, lies and more lies used to infiltrate my gamer community! Do they think we are crazy and dense?"

After hearing of the potential lawsuit, G4 Founder and CEO Charles Hirschhorn stated: "Although we find Spike TV's imitation of G4 a sincere form of flattery, we are we are grateful for "Spike's" spirited stance and his attempt to separate fact from fiction. We do wish "Spike" the best as he tries to recover from his recent stresses. And I can confirm we hosted the first-ever televised video game awards show, G-Phoria, which was held in July of this year."

"Spike's" complaint will point to specific claims that Spike TV maintains they are producing and broadcasting "the first-ever video game awards." In fact, G4 produced and aired the first televised video game awards last July with their G-Phoria extravaganza. He also cites actual show production and promotional similarities Spike TV is assuming in the planning of their video game awards program.

Spike Steadman is a distinguished video game enthusiast who simultaneously watches G4 TV 20 hours per day while playing video games. Since Spike TV's actions, "Spike" has been unable to earn even two stars on his favorite game, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Details of the suit are pending a formal filing.
