It's not often that a game comes along where both the parent and child agree that this is the PERRFECT game for a kid. Usually they're too hard, too scarey, too bloody, too fast, too something. Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly is one of those rare games. Just read on to see what Alexandre had to say about it...
WarCry: What is the name of this game?
Alexandre: It's Spryo and its about a little purple kid dragon that's supposed to go defeat the Retoks (Dinosaurs from Outer Space) which are bad guys! Heh!
WarCry: What did the Reptoks do?
Alexandre: What they did was this. The captain, he talked to Spyro and then stole all of the dragonflies, except Sparks.
WarCry: Who is Sparks?
Alexandre: A little yellow dragonfly who helps you. When you come to a place where you don't know what to do, he tells you.
WarCry: Why are Dragonflies important?
Alexandre: They help the dragons do stuff - they are their sensei; they help around the castles if the dragons get lost; they pick up gems; they help the dragons with their powers.
WarCry: What are the gems?
Alexandre: Their stones of different shapes and they are worth different points. It's the dragon treasure that was stolen and every time the Reptoks go to the castle they pick up more than they can carry and drop it all over the place.
WarCry: What do you do with the gems?
Alexandre: You pick them up and collect them. Then there's a big fat guy with a sack and you give him 200 or 100 gems - I don't know - so you can rescue one of the dragon senseis.
WarCry: Do you fight monsters?
Alexandre: I haven't made it all the way through but I've fought Reptoks and little frogs and eagles and sheep that give health to Sparks. When Sparks changes colors it means he's sick. There are big box monsters with big arms and legs and a box they smash you with, too! Oh, and the cows from outer space and their lasers.
WarCry: How do you defeat the monsters?
Alexandre: You use your breath or you can charge them. You start with fire breath, then bubble breath, then electric breath and ice breath which makes them freeze and fall over!
WarCry: What is bubble breath?
Alexandre: The Reptoks stole all the dragonflies but they're flying everywhere and you capture them with bubble breath and send them home. It's hard!
WarCry: What kind of places do you go to?
Alexandre: Well, the only ones I've been to are the Island and the Dragonfly Dojo and the Dragon Castle. There's lots more to do but it will take years to do it all!
WarCry: What are they like?
Alexandre: The first dragon realms has no monsters and that's good! Hehehehe You mostly jump/glide to other places. Sometimes you can pick up gems.
WarCry: What kind of things do you jump/glide on?
Alexandre: Well, like rocks and other places. Sometimes you need to jump from one place to another.
WarCry: Can you do anything else?
Alexandre: You can swim. One of the other things you can do is use UFOs, Airplanes, Mantarays and Tanks! When you learn how to you can shield yourself with your wings to keep from getting hit.
WarCry: Why would a dragon use a UFO?
Alexandre: Because there's a farmer named Farmer Dill and Farmer John tries to steal thm with other UFOs so you need one to help.
WarCry: Is this game fun?
Alexandre: VERY VERY VERY! And its a nice game to keep!
WarCry: Is it hard?
Alexandre: A litle. There are places where you have to jump and glide and flutter which is very very hard.
WarCry: Is there lots to do?
Alexandre: Yes! There's lots of levels and quests and things you go through for training. I've only done a little and I've been playing for 3 WHOLE WEEKS!
WarCry: Is this a scary game?
Alexandre: No way, Jose.
WarCry: Do you want to say anything else about the game?
Alexandre: Maybe after I learn some more.
Parental Commentary: I would recommend this game for any child age 6-30. It's simple, straight-forward and you never run out of things to do. It's pace is such that it doesn't over-excite a young child yet gives an older child (or adult) plenty to keep them busy. And the screenshots here don't do it justice at all.
