Review of Black Mirror

imageAnybody remember the old King's Quest franchise from Sierra back in the day? This ain't it. "The Black Mirror" is all about the same maddening puzzle-solving gameplay style, but oh how far we've come since then.

This slow and methodical adventure is set at Black Mirror, the Gordon family estate. You take the role of Samuel Gordon, the wayward blacksheep who only returns now, after a twelve-year absence, to attend the funeral of his grandfather. As you explore the castle, and the dreary setting unfolds, you start to get the distinct feeling that something foul is afoot, and things are not as they seem. The death of Samuel Gordon's grandfather was no meer accident. And then the horrific nightmares begin, leading you in the footsteps of an old man, haunted by the family's past, while you yourself are haunted by a troubled present. The events that led to your grandfather's death, almost seem... supernatural.
