Sexiest Gamer nears final search

VERNON KAY TO HOST GAMER.TV'S SEARCH FOR THE SEXIEST GAMER FINAL

Gamer.tv (www.gamer.tv) today announced that Vernon Kay - the fresh-faced presenter of Channel 4's T4 - will host the UK final of Search for the Sexiest Gamer on Thursday 11th December 2003 at The Institute of Contemporary Arts, London.

Following a two-month campaign, resulting in 360,000 users generating over five million votes on www.sexiestgamer.com, Gamer.tv's Search for the Sexiest Gamer has whittled down over 1000 contestants to a top 10 in the UK. Vernon Kay will host the final that decides which male and female from these 10 will be Gamer.tv's official sexiest gamers and will each win a trip for two to Hollywood, USA.

Vernon's first taste of fame came when he was spotted by a model scout at the BBC's Clothes Show Live. He began a successful modelling career and it wasn't long before he was picked out for stardom by Channel 4, when he won 'Model of the Week' on The Big Breakfast. Since then he has gone on to present BBC 2's Top of the Pops Plus, Play UK's Top of the Pops@ Play, the BBC's youth magazine show FBI, T4's T in the Park, Channel 5's live magazine format The Mag and the Saturday night show Boys and Girls. Vernon will also be presenting a Sunday afternoon music entertainment show on Radio 1 in the New Year.

The Search for the Sexiest Gamer winners will be decided by a panel of judges comprising gaming, lifestyle, fashion and music journalists and TV presenters. Finalists will be judged on sexiness, gaming knowledge and ability. A US final will also run in Los Angeles on Friday 12th December with a trip for two to London up for grabs for the winners.

The UK final of Gamer.tv's Search for the Sexiest Gamer will take place on Thursday 11th December 2003 at The Institute of Contemporary Arts, London.
