Lucas Arts and SOE Honor University of Advancing Technology Employee/Student

TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 26, 2004--With over 500,000 players worldwide, Star Wars Galaxies has become one of the most played and popular massive multi-player online role-playing games (MMORPG) in the industry today.

UAT employee and student Joe McCormack has been recognized by Sony Online Entertainment for the innovative design and programming used in the creation of his "Galaxies" fan site. In lieu of seeing the site, the games developer, Lucas Arts, were contacted, and went on to approve the site as an official "community" fan site. McCormack's site is one of only 23 sites worldwide to get approved and listed. The site is now listed on Sony's portal site for "Star Wars Galaxies" at http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/.
