Castersrealm has published it's E3 Review of Horizons today. They had many unique things to say about the game.
"The world of Istaria has some very engrossing aspects to its terrain. Snowy terrain in many games is based purely on developer whim - snow appears wherever the developers want it instead of where it makes sense. On Istaria, snow appears above a certain altitude, for they have implemented a snow line. After showing us a Fiend city that rested high in the mountains, David flew down to the more lush land below in order to show off one of their great technical features: floating islands. Many people don't understand the technical achievement that floating land represents - that is, land that the players can walk on top of, or on the surface of the land beneath it. It means that their world geometry, instead of being a thin sheet that has differences in height in order to form hills and valleys, uses fully 3D space. We asked David Bowman if that meant that players would be able to dig (and therefore build underground), but his only reply was a wry smile and a refusal to deny or acknowledge that possibility."
